We receive so many requests for resources and referrals, and while we try our best to respond in a timely manner, it’s quite hard for a small, volunteer run organization. That said, we decided to pull together this list of resources that we trust, to anyone who needs it. Below is a list that will continue to grow. Some of these service providers include many other resources within them as well.
- Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition - http://www.cancerfac.org Searchable database of financial resources around the nation. This link will help you get to the major organizations involved and who also offer various forms of support
- The Pink Fund- http://thepinkfund.org/ Financial assistance program for living and medical expenses supporting breast cancer patients.
- Patient Advocate Foundation- http://www.patientadvocate.or Helps cancer patients and caregivers with direct support / advocacy pertaining to navigating healthcare, finding financial resources, and more.
- Imerman Angels- http://imermanangels.org/ They match cancer patients and caretakers with individuals who are in the same situation - so they can help you navigate the system, or just be there for support because they know what it’s like to be in your shoes.
- NIH, National Cancer Institute- http://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/managing-care Did you know that through NIH’s NCI there are many totally free services available to cancer patients including MRI’s, mental health counseling, and even acupuncture? Also, this is where you can find out about trials going on all over the country. It may take a few phone calls and navigating around but worth checking out, especially if NIH is conveniently located to you.
- Cleaning for a Reason- http://cleaningforareason.org/ They provide free housecleaning services to breast cancer patients nation-wide where they have a presence.
